New York’s infamous “Preppie Killer” was released in 2003 after serving 15 years behind bars for the death of 18-year-old Jennifer Levin. And now, he learned he will serve another 19 years in prison after a judge sentenced him for a drug charge.

Crimejunkies contacted Linda Fairstein, the prosecutor who handled the case 20 years ago, for a statement in regards to the sentencing, and she provided the following:

“Robert Chambers is a classic sociopath with a history of addiction since the age of fourteen.  Despite repeated attempts to get him help - by his family, his friends, the clergy, and even while incarcerated for taking a human life - he dropped out of each rehab program and continued to abuse cocaine and heroin, then turned to selling large quantities of the drugs.  Tragically, his vibrant young friend Jennifer Levin was asphyxiated by Chambers and never had a second chance at life.  It's fitting that he not walk among us for a very long time.”
